Western Australian Museum
George Temple-Poole
1896
Perth Cultural Centre, James St Mall, Northbridge
Temple-Poole originally envisaged an entire complex, accommodating both a library, museum and art gallery. Only one small section of his proposal was built, with extensions made after his retirement as Government Architect by J.H. Grainger in 1904. Subsequent extensions have taken place over the years with international architectural office OMA set to design the latest, scheduled for completion by 2020.
